GIS Lab: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems

This beginner-friendly, hands-on practical training is designed for students and early-career learners across all fields who are interested in learning how to create maps, explore location-based data, and use GIS tools for research, environmental studies, urban planning, community-based projects, and everyday problem-solving.

Participants will work through guided exercises, explore sample data, and create maps during the training.

Registered participants will receive a practice dataset, step-by-step exercise guide, and additional learning resources for self-practice after the session. Participants will also be expected to download and install QGIS before the training day, and installation instructions will be shared ahead of the session.
